God’s Promises

Life can be a struggle sometimes. In the middle of all the chaos, it’s so easy to forget the promises that have been made to us. We live in a world of broken hearts and broken promises, but God’s promises still remain. I received a reminder in the mail from  In Touch Ministries about God’s promises to us; and I’d like to pass along what I gathered from it. Write theses promises down to remind yourself daily just how loved you are.

  1. God Promises to Help

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10

I have faced many low times in my life where I had no hope for the future. So full of fear and lack of strength to keep fighting. But our Father promises to help us during the highs and lows of life. He tells us not to be afraid because He will uphold us with His strong and righteous hand. Problems will arise, but we know that with God’s help those problems cannot stand a chance.

2. God Promises to Forgive

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

We all fall short and make mistakes daily, but what amazing grace we have been shown from our Father. How comforting is it to know that our mistakes do not define us. How comforting is it to know that no matter what we have done, God promises to forgive when we ask. No matter how messed up we believe we are, there is nothing too bad for Him to make new.

3. God Promises to Answer us

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” -1 John 5:14-15

This doesn’t mean that if you pray for a fancy sports car God will give it to you (haha). What it means is that God hears us and knows what’s best for us, so He will answer us accordingly. He won’t always answer in the ways we want Him to, but we can trust that He knows best for us.

4. God Promises Eternal Security

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” -John 10:28

When we ask Jesus into our lives, nothing can come between that. Nothing can separate us from Him. Our eternity will never falter or parish because He will hold us forever. There are so many places in life where we may feel insecure and unstable, but because of Jesus we will forever be secure in Him.

5. God Promises to Give us Guidance

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

Oh my, how I need guidance, my friends. There has been so many situations where I felt completely lost and hopeless. Being 22 years old, I am still trying to navigate my way through life and God’s plans for me. I’m continuing to learn and trust God one day at a time. So thankful for His guidance.

6. God Promises to Love

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 8:38-39

I don’t feel the need to explain this much further. There is simply nothing in all creation that could separate us from His unfailing love. You are so, so loved my friend.

7. God Promises to be Present

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” -Deuteronomy 31:8

This is why I am so confident in God. He promises to be involved in our everyday life. He never leaves it all up to us to handle on our own. He is with us where ever we go. He will never leave or forsake you.

8. God Promises our Daily Needs

“My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19

God is our portion and provider. He watches over us and there will be times where we feel like He is not near, but He gives us what we need.
